Land Acknowledgement

We live and work on land stolen from the First Nations Coastal Salish people who have lived here for thousands of years before white colonizers arrived 250 years ago with violence towards the Salish people and the land. Nature remembers this violence, too.

In my work to help people connect with nature, my goal is to celebrate native people, their wisdom and their sacred spiritual connection to the land by highlighting their knowledge about native plants and trees. I teach practical ways to decolonize self and land to heal self and land and how to not appropriate when working with plants.

Plant and mushroom walks and classes are free for folks indigenous to Turtle Island to support connection with their homeland. 10% of all nature based services from PNW Ecotherapy are given to the Nakani Native Program to pay rent to work on this land that belongs to the Salish people and as reparations on behalf of my own white colonial-settler ancestors.

Please visit the Hibulb Cultural Center in Tulalip to hear the stories of the Salish people.
