Healing Salve

$20.00

Ingredients: St. John’s Wort, Yarrow, Purple Dead Nettle, Narrow Leaf Plantain, grapeseed oil, sunflower oil, beeswax, vitamin E

Instructions: Use topically for dry, cracked skin, cuts, scrapes, bites, bruises, eczema, and psoriasis. Reduces swelling, pain, itching, and infection. Antibacterial, antifungal, analgesic, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory.

St. John’s Wort (Hypericum perforatum): This non-native plant to the PNW is great to forage liberally, because it is invasive. It gives the salve a beautiful red color. The plant’s medicine is stored in tiny perforations or holes in the petals and leaves, hence the name perforatum. The flower is yellow and when squeezed emits purple juice which transforms into red when macerated in oil. St. John’s wort blooms during the summer solstice, symbolizing light after darkness.

Yarrow (Achillea millefolium): Yarrow is native to the PNW and a plant of protection and boundaries, named after Achilles who was dipped by his mother into a bath of Yarrow tea to protect him in battle. His only vulnerable part was his heel, hence the name and term Achilles heel, our weakness that is our downfall. Spiritually, yarrow helps us face our Achilles heel.

Purple Dead Nettle (Lamium purpureum): Invasive to the PNW and so is a great plant to forage liberally. Edible and medicinal with a funky smell.

Narrow Leaf Plantain (Plantago lanceolata): Not related to banana, this non-native plant is considered a weed and is invasive to the PNW, so is a great plant to forage liberally. Edible and medicinal.

What’s inside: This salve is made with locally, ethically foraged plants in the PNW, intention and heart.

Directions: Apply topically for cuts, scrapes, bruises, bites, rashes, protection, and healing.
